As 2019 wrapped a decade, I was scrolling through my memories of 10 year back.

Reliving the memories through the photos and remembering the situations and occasions in which they were taken. They were not the easiest, yet now that I am looking back, I see how much I grew stronger, and how much these years have shaped me.

Experiencing the loss of dear ones, taught me the importance of cherishing the time I had with them and the time with those who are still with me; moreover, the importance of expressing the love we have to them.

I learned how to be selective in my circle, not everything that shines is gold, clearly talking about human relationships. I used to be more of a people pleaser even if it meant giving more than taking, until I realized that even though we should be caring and givers, we should not sprinkle this like confetti.  Be good but learn your value and never let anyone take you for granted.
I was lucky and still am to have the support that I need and this is all a blessing from Allah, may we always meet on the way the right people with whom we grow.

And finally, I learned that it is never too late to follow the passion I have, to pursue my dream, to leave that toxic friendship, to reach out for help and to be outspoken about my needs and mostly to set boundaries.

Now let me share with you, the memories that marked me these past ten years as well as for this year, again through photos.

2010

Freshly out of the loss of my beloved Dad, the year was not easy, however we tried lifting ourselves, preparing for my sister’s wedding, celebrating life.

2014

Again it is about travel, what can I do, I am addicted! I fell under the charm of Morocco, specifically Rabat and its raw culture. Counting to be back to discover more of it. Oh and another trip to USA this time to discover San Francisco and Las Vegas.

2015

It set myself free and left my job after 6 years without an alternative! I was aspiring a true change (yet it was not the time!)

We celebrated my elder brother’s wedding, it was an opportunity to all of us to meet again in the same country, it was heartwarming.

January

A fresh new start, embracing what this year will bring with the set goals and the positive mindset. January always holds this pain in the heart, of remembering my dad and thinking that it has been already 10 years that I am facing this life without him.

As much as we talk about the beauty of Lebanon, we can never do it justice. And when it comes to valuing the locals and their effort, Souk El Tayeb and its Tawlet is probably the best initiative ever. We enjoyed another time touring between Ammiq and Saida to savor local delicacies and explore the area.
