Souk El Tayeb is a pioneer in paying homage to the Local cuisine respecting the tradition of each region. Whether in its actual souk on Saturdays, different Tawlet and Beit, it strives to empower the locals and small producers by giving them the tools to grow and evolve.

In a culinary journey, I was happy to join Souk El Tayeb family in the season opening of Tawlet Ammik, Tawlet beit el Qamar and to visit Tawlet Saida.

Now let us start with Ammik, home for the most instagrammable road that leads to the Tawlet, it was not my first visit, but I can never have enough.
The serenity of the location that blends so well with the surrounding, overlooking the Bekaa Valley, the cuisine that is so fulfilling and the possibility of activities for those who love biking in the wetlands of Ammik are all in all recipe for a day well spent. Not only that, they have guest houses so you can actually wake up to that!

Off to Beit El Qamar; it was my first visit, but surely wont be the last. Hardly 40 minutes away from Beirut, yet you feel transported to the french country side.

Two story house with several rooms, each with a theme, a terrace overlooking a beautiful garden, TV room and a charming living room. Not only that, if you are craving more privacy, you can rent the separate studio (which was previously a water tank!).

We started the day with a small hike to discover the surrounding nature, after which we came back eager to eat!

As usual, the chefs are mixing tradition with innovation. A buffet that was spread before our eyes and is never deceiving. That Zlabeyi with labneh dip was a winner!

Oh and the dessert buffet is another story, I can still taste the Layali Loubnan!

It was time to turn the engines and head to Saida. Tucked inside an alley, few stairs again and here you are again with serenity, and preservation of the heritage.

Chef Hamza and Anissa along with the sweetest team have catered Saidawi specialities that are a must try. Jrich with Zaatar and Cheese, wild thyme salad, mdardara, Taouk in skillet and more.

It was heritage day so we enjoyed touring Khan el Saboun, Asr Debbane and the old Saida souks which has an incomparable charm.

Sadly I missed the openning at Tawlet Bio mass but surely it does not lack the charm. and surely planning to visit Beit Douma.

Never do they seize to amaze me, the sleek decoration, the cuisine, the locations but mainly the heartfell welcome and awesome family vibes that I feel wherever I go.

What are your plans this weekend, make sure to include at least a Tawlet in them!
