Four things to know this Friday

This week we celebrated Mawlid al-Nabi (pbuh), a gentle reminder to stay grounded in patience, compassion, and humility, even when the world pulls you elsewhere. Speaking of which… the algorithm…

Hello, my lovelies.

This week we celebrated Mawlid al-Nabi, the commemoration of Prophet Mohammad’s (peace be upon him) birth, which for me is a reminder to reconnect with the values he embodied: patience, compassion, humility, and staying true to who you are even when the world around you pulls you elsewhere.

I need to rant to you about something; the algorithm and I are not on speaking terms. There’s a real pull to chase whatever the numbers reward. But somewhere between the third reel that flopped and the one I almost didn’t post because “it wouldn’t perform,” I caught myself editing away the parts that actually felt like me.

So here’s where I’ve landed, at least for now: I’ll keep playing along with trends because some of them are genuinely fun, and yes, I want to be seen, but only the ones I can make my own. If a trend doesn’t bend to fit my voice, it doesn’t make the cut, views or no views. I’d rather build something smaller and real than something big and hollow.
This newsletter is part of that. No algorithm decides what goes here, just what I actually want to say to you this week. So thank you for reading it the old-fashioned way!

If you’re someone who actually enjoys what I make, not just scrolls past it, this is where you come in. The algorithm listens to engagement more than it listens to effort, so a comment, a share, a save; it genuinely moves the needle. Consider it your way of voting for realness over noise. I see every single one, and it keeps me going more than you know.

F for Facts/ Fun

The worst behaviors that you can do at the airport, you need to stop carrying these 6 regrets, and how to get back your ambition.

F for Fashion / Beauty

Camila Coelho’s new drops, summer sandals, dresses and pants, it’s western mood for pre-fall, refresh your beauty section, what is outfit villain theory, shop Helsa’s and SRG’s new drops, would you wear diet coke as a fragrance, and dress like a French girl this summer.

F for Fitness / Health

Foods that help your endometriosis, what 20 minutes outdoors can do for you, how GABA influences your gut, how microplastics are affecting your health, signs that you have low calcium, and how to build muscles with exercise.

F for Food

German plum cake, sushi salad recipe, carrot milk aka retinol milk, and not your average granita.

Until next week, InshAllah.
