The new branch of Olio and Soto in Badaro is so beautifully designed that you cannot overlook it when you are passing by though it is tucked on one of the side roads of the street.
A huge green wall that invites you to come in. I reserved our table to celebrate our friend’s birthday on a Wednesday evening.
Hazar and Ali made sure we spent a beautiful evening and catered all our requests with a huge smile and big attention.
The bread basket is a freshly baked loaf coated with oregano was very tasty.
– Insalata milia: big portion of wild greens, cherry tomatoes and eggplants. Decorated with three slices of parmesan. I would recommend grilling the eggplants to reduce the oily taste. Ali was sweet as he changed the plate when my friend expressed the unpleasant taste of eggplants yet even the second one was the same.
– Caesar salad: very delicious
– Kale and smoked salmon salad: unfortunately the smell of the salmon was repulsive, very “fishy” I don’t know why maybe it is better to check with the provider.
– Crazy set from Soto: honestly it is not my favorite sushi place as it is very basic. And the rice coating was a bit dry.
Upon telling them about the birthday, as sweet as ever they served us their foccacia al caramello, they event added candles and sang for us! Loved the dessert as it had intense flavors and was rich and dense.
With some adjustments to the recipes I am sure it can be even better spot. If your passing in Badaro give it a try, they also have special lunch offers!
