Upon a sweet invitation of a zomato meetup, I had the chance to visit the newly opened branch of Schnitzels in Le mall Dbayeh.
Our host for the eve, the most enthusiastic, sweet, knowledgeable and adorable Milvena, pampered us.
We started with a basic green salad, a good portion of lettuce garnished with fresh mushrooms, some walnuts and sun-dried tomato; it was a bit oily and could use a kick as well as addition of tomatoes.
We tried:
– Putenbratwurst (Turkey sausages) with potato salad and sauerkraut: loved it; it is grilled and the mix makes a great combination.
– Wiener (Veal) schnitzel accompanied with a barbecue sauce; it is so crunchy and not heavy at all; you can even think it was not deep-fried
-Chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce; very dry and the sauce is heavy for my taste
-Chicken stuffed with mozzarella and spinach: moist and light, I preferred it over the plain one.
The big surprise was how good the dessert is:
– Chocolate temptation left us in Awe! A raspberry chocolate cake filled with homemade vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce! If we knew how good this will be we could have jumped straight to dessert!
– Apple struddle pie with homemade vanilla ice cream: the dough is a bit thick, the filling is very well seasoned. As Milvena explained, it had to have that texture so it holds longer.
I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a different experience and cuisine. The generous portions are coupled with affordable prices and most of all genuine smiles of the staff!
Thank you Milvena, Schnitzel and Zomato for the eve.
