I can’t lie and say that I don’t have some cooking skills, but most of the times I am too lazy to execute a recipe since I don’t have time to prepare the ingredients.

There are also the other kind of people who are just not into cooking, or the ones who actually feel like receiving friends over a nice meal just lack the skills.

Inabox is concept that was born for people like you however you classify yourself as per the above and me.

Hadi, the mind behind the idea. As he shared his story with PTITNFIT:


I always loved working in restaurants and cooking for people. I had the chance to open a family restaurant Malilou while studying law. After 14 years, I decided to move on to Spain and do my masters in hospitality and quality management. Since then, I worked in restaurants and tried acquiring cooking and kitchen know how.
One day a friend of mine, called her mother to ask her what are the directions and quantities to make Loubyeh bil zeit for her kids. The idea struck me and I decided to help people learn how to cook, and get better, step by step, easily and with no fuss of the Lebanese traffic and market prices.

Inabox is a social responsible community, while surfing their website, you can see that is not only about food. It is a box with a message promising happy gatherings, empowering the chefs who share their recipe and arrange the ingredients, which are sourced from local farmers and producers, the simplest way possible to make sure you achieve it. The boxes are collected and recycled, they are also contributing to those in need through Food Blessed and Lebanese Food Bank.

Back to my cooking experience, the weekly boxes are announced on the website while  checking, I was excited to try the Tunisian samkeh harra by chef Aline.


After agreeing on a delivery date, my complimentary box arrived; it included the recipe and all the needed ingredients where only salt, pepper and oil are used from your pantry.

Here are the Ingredients and the steps:

2 Fish filet
1 cup Cooked and diced beetroot
1 bunch of wild Zaatar
1/4 cup Lemon juice
3-4 tablespoons Olive oil
1/4 cup Chopped onions
1/4 cup Diced tomatoes
1/4 cup Chopped red pepper
1 handful of walnuts
2 tablespoons of Harissa,
2 tablespoons of Tahini
1/2 cup Water
Cilantro to garnish
Salt and Pepper to taste

1- Heat olive oil in a pan, add chopped onions, tomatoes and red pepper

2- When the onions become translucent, add the walnuts, lemon juice and Harissa, stir a bit then add the tahini with water, stir and let the mix simmer until the oil separates from the mix

3- Season the fish with salt and pepper and place it in a baking tray. Preheat the oven on 180 C

4- Pour the mix over the fish and bake in the over for 20 minutes or until it is flaky

5-While cooking, mix the wild thyme with beetroot, I used some of the tahini with the lemon juice and salt to make the dressing

6-Garnish the fish with cilantro and serve with the salad
