I wouldn’t allow myself to feel tired of repeating over and over while nothing is changing in the ongoing genocide in Gaza while the world leaders are not only allowing this to happen but they are also finding excuses to justify it.

On another parallel world, as I feel this is how we are living in between, trying to carry on with work an life duties, I was so proud to collaborate with BeyxArt for the Art Stay program. The first was at Hachichet Albe in Gemmayze and it was displaying Joe Sokhn’s photo which are up for sale for one year. Stay tuned for the upcoming ones as I am also planning interesting projects as part of the Shift Consultancy.

Check my funny take on this trend with my twist.

F for Facts

As we are waiting to see the decision of the international court of justice on the genocide charges by South Africa against Israel, the Israeli “diplomatic team” are exposing more and more their evil, by suggesting to expel all Palestinians to an artificial Island, and Yemen suggested they do the same to Israeli settlers! displacement, hunger, and the situation is getting more and more dire, as they are also invading more areas in what was supposed to be the “safe south” and of course the west bank. The situation in Lebanon isn’t getting better either, and every other day Israel threatens that it will declare the war.

F for Fashion

Between the purple carpet at Joy Awards (already shared my fashion police with my subscribers) and the haute couture fashion week, it was a busy week for fashion. Here are some show notes from Vogue, Schiaparelli never cease to impress every season, with models walking covered in micro ships and old phones, XL shoulders and dramatic bodices. Tamara Ralph created clothes to stand the test of time with models wearing Audemars Piguet. Georges Hobeika dedicated his collection to Beirut, with tapestries and rugs were wrapped around models. Dior’s essence of femininity in the designs like the A-line skirts, bar jacket in velvet and silk. Valli’s poetic designs with mini dresses embroidered with crystals and capes turned on the magic and charm. Chanel’s models wore tulle skirts, opaque tights, balloon sleeves and strappy black heels in an artistic ballet theme. Giorgio Armani’s collection blends kimono-inspired silhouettes with lace and embroidery in timeless sophistication. Pieter Mulier’s take on Alaia with layers of wool backless with millefeuille. Elie Saab’s collection was inspired by Moroccan design in soft pinks and baby blues, with embroidered djellabas laced with beads. Zuhair Murad paid homage to the Phoenicians’ love for the sea. Ashi’s collection was inspired from Waka, Japanese art and literature translated in Soulages black, ecru white and gold. Valentino’s deep palette of burgundy, green and blue showed a lesson in color blocking and styling. Stephane Rolland’s models ascended in a myriad of chiffon, raffia cape and nomadic style. Sara Chraibi’s collection was inspired by Morocco’s architecture and nature with rich tones of brown, orange and gold. Rami Al Ali pictured the hearth of an African trail, full moon and north African’s muse. Jean Paul Gaultier by Simon Rocha was an ethereal fashion fantasy from the boudoir to the ballet. Viktor and Rolf Scissorhands flawless couture in 7 groups of 4 investigating the creative sides of tailor’s scissors to experiment with decorative cutting. Maison Margiela by John Galliano was theatrical where I personally felt transported to gangs of NYC, tightened corsets and suits with overcoats. At Fendi, a century of legacy meets a futuristic style, projecting beauty that seems to come straight from a science fiction movie. With clean cuts and long silhouettes that celebrates minimalism.
