Happy women’s day my loves and happy teachers day, and pre-happy birthday for me!
Oh what on earth was that Virgo full moon, like why so harsh mama! I had a very intense week on all levels, it is such a busy period and for that I am grateful, busy for good things even if I get exhausted, is a blessing. I was honored to organize the exhibition in celebration of women’s day for Courtney Bonneau, and, another one, at As-Safir, that actually starts today and ends tomorrow Saturday March 11th, so pass by if you have time.

F for Fashion
As we say Bye bye to Paris Fashion week and before starting the first version of Dubai Fashion week (previously Arab Fashion week), let’s go through the last shows that took place in Paris. Loewe emphasized on textures and flowy silhouettes, with feathered tops and silk skirts. Issey Miyake explored the geometric and sculptural worlds with graphic dresses and twisted shapes. Giambattista Valli’s inspired collection from Empress Josephine De Beauharnais. Victoria Beckham celebrated the art of dressing in an eclectic and sophisticated collection. Coperni stole the show this time, not by painting the dress but by having robots walking the runway and harassing the models! Hermes, with gorgeous monochrome silhouettes, in a feminine sensuality that was, as described by the brand, all in winter lights and colors. Elie Saab’s radiant women with her fearless spirit was spoiled in this collection, with blossoms and chiffon dresses and blouses. Vivienne Westwood was a letter of love to the designer who passed away, using antique fabric and platform shoes. Alexander McQueen was back to Paris, in a collection where items where repurposed, sweaters as dresses, upside down silhouettes and corsets. Valentino, rethinking the classic black tie dress code, with classic tailored jackets and short shorts, feathered coats and sequin gowns. Balenciaga’s designer Demna, in an attempt of getting forgiveness, decided to go back to the roots, in three parts, tailoring, one exploring silhouettes and third his own interpretation of elegance. Louis Vuitton’s usual take on classic French style, with powerful shoulders, and sculptural outerwear. Stella McCartney’s involvement in sustainability, was again expressed in this collection, where se celebrated her love of animals, this time horses, and models were wearing monochromatic suits in black and red, floor length coats, and new take on horse prints. Chanel ‘s camellia was the star of the show, in motifs on sweaters and flouncy frocks. Miu Miu styled the sheer skirts over cardigans, zip hoodies on lush shearling lapels, leather paired with pantyhose in a re-imagination of classic codes.
