Back to school and back to life after a buzzing summer. While temperatures are still high high, and we can’t imagine ourselves in fall clothes, it is still exciting to shop and fill the cart with new season items.

Now that the fashion weeks are starting to boost us for the upcoming spring and summer trends, let us take a look at this season’s trends.

What to ditch and what to get instead

Instead of slit hem leggings, opt for the low rise puddle pants; they are more relaxed version and give that effortless laid back vibe like model off duty!
Instead of ribbed knit dresses, opt for the maxi slip dresses. A personal favorite, I would pair them with an oversized checked blazer of even a bomber leather jacket with boots or sneakers.
Instead of autumn colors, opt for pastel colors. Think green and yellow, marigold not mustard or burgundy! Crystals and shiny textiles to bring a sparkle to the season looks.

Instead of flare jeans, opt for relaxed denim, and even better, head to toe denim looks. A polished look with pointed toe heels or retro sneakers.
Embrace the 80s nostalgic feel that hit our wardrobe from sheer dresses to white tank tops, bucket hats and corset tops paired with maxi skirts. Not to forget the stirrup leggings; pair them with statement shoulders or pair them with contrasting textures like velvet.
Dig your vests and have fun styling them in different ways!

Leather (but make it vegan or thrifted) Heavy duty or feminine, leather is making a come back reviving Bomber jacket and vests, adding an extra confidence in the blazer cut(check how you can play around with different looks with the blazer and introducing distressed versions in cargo pants, and dresses. Side note, thrifting is a great way to own real leather and giving it another life.

Shoes

Cowboy boots, rubber rainboots (wink wink to Crocs and Balenciaga collaboration) and hiking boots for hardcore dressing in style.
Platforms are also sticking in fall fashion with their symbolism of power and fearlessness both in boots and sneakers.
Sexy silhouettes with knee high sock boots and slouchy ones in sultry material and biker with zips and hardware details tapping in the Y2K mood.
And finally, explore the unexplored with new irregular shapes, puffer boots (ski aesthetics ), loafers, flat Mary janes and ballerina flats.

Hair and beauty

Y2K is also leaving its touch on the hair and makeup side. Think Antenna bangs, Barbie ponytail, bedazzled barrettes and clip in colors. As for haircuts, think layered bob, pixie cuts and Rachel’s look!
Makeup wise, you may have noticed bleached and glitter eyebrows during fashion shows, are you ready to embrace the trend! How about different nail colors?
Don’t forget to switch your skincare routine for fall adding these active ingredients for a plump skin.
